The Chivalric Family

Defending and enriching PlayStation Home, one person at a time. Since March of 2011

Are You New?

  • This is the online site for the Chivalric Family! Here we will talk about all the events that will be and are happening in Home, as well as anything else that is deemed necessary to the family, whether it be by the members themselves, or the home community.
  • If you're new in The Chivalric Family, this is where you want to start paying attention. Here we will (hopefully) answer all of your questions because like you, many people have thought the same thing already! If however you have a question that is not answered on this page, feel free to Contact The Leader and we'll be sure to both answer it, and post it on here for others. Welcome to The Chivalric Family!
  • Feel free to browse the site to get a better feel for who we are and what we're all about, or if you're a member of the family then come here to talk to other members, catch up on the family activities, and be more involved in The Chivalric Family!

Welcome!

The Family Subgroups

Recruiting

Welcome!

  1. What exactly is the Chivalric Family?

    • The Chivalric Family is an organization dedicated to improving Home and the PSN environment in every way that we can. we try to influence people to be more courteous, charismartic, and respectful, since the mods don't always do this.

    • We strive to create a family that will erase the stereotype that families in Home are groups of common thugs, by making a family large enough to influence the Home and PSN community at large.

Rules/Guidelines

  1. Who is in charge?

    • We run things on a council and subgroup system, expelling the idea of a single or few leaders to seize power. Council members will take the ideas and opinions of the family members (as well as themselves) and vote on matters from rules, to the standing of members, as well as time frames for events. Of course the council does not have absolute rule, The Family Leader(s) will make sure that all decisions are fair and just. The council is run within the club belonging to Firdausai, and other counci/family leaders (The Chivalric Mafia), and any family member can join the council by leading a family subgroup of no less than 4 members (themselves included).

  2. The family leaders are not logged on, what do I do!?

    • Calm down, you can think for yourself, you're not a machine, and that's why you're with us. While the family leader is absent, look to the council members, as well as your own subgroup(s) members if you are a part of one. Depending on what you want to get done, (The list of council members can be found here) you can always add them and be their friends, they volunteered to be leaders and help you. If you want to do your own thing, go for it! Use this opportunity to help others can make The Chivalric Family fully self-sufficient!

  3. Do we have a dress code?

    • Yes, and no. We do not have an enforced dress code policy, but formal wear is encouraged and will only help you, so it is in your best interest to get at least one nice outfit. However if you can't afford it (for ANY reason) it won't count against you in any way, so don't worry about it.

The Council

  1. What exactly do the council members DO?

    • Glad you asked that one.

The Council will be in charge of making decisions, and thinking of what the family's next step or activity will be.

They will  be in charge of giving tasks to members and coordinating events, parties, etc.

They will also be in charge of disciplining any and all members in violation of the rules, making and editing all existing rules, and enforcing all necessary policies (such as getting members to join this website)

  2. How can I become a council member?

    • First of all, know that council members are required to have a bit more responsibility than normal members, so if you want to be one, you should be prepared for that. If you want to become one, simply find the family leader(s), send them a messge saying that you want to be one, and it will be decided if you are ready to be a member of the council sor not.

  3. Where do the council members meet?

    • While family meetings are done most often in Smuggler's Den, the council members will usually meet up right after those meetings (some of them having attended the meeting) to go to their respective clubhouse, like that nifty looking room on the homepage top corner. You can't get into the clubhousewithout being in the council unless you get special permission to do so, so don't ask a council member to let you in, they aren't able to.

The Family Subgroups

  1. What Are Subgroups?

    • The Family subgroups are the driving force behind our activities, and provide the council with it's members. Each subgroup is comprised of at least 4 members (including the leader), dedicated to a specific task (ex. a team of 4 people managing this website) that they have chosen to be a part of.

    • Each subgroup leader is elligable to be a member of the council, but is not required to do so. Participating as a council member will provide each subgroup leader with special priveleges, as well as responsibilities, and each will be monitored to make sure both are taken seriously.
  2. Do Subgroups recruit?

    • Subgroups CAN recruit, and are encouraged to do so, but are not required to. Subgroups are primarilly focused on enagging current members of the family, and keeping them active in whatever their chosen group is.

    • Subgroups do not have extra responsibilities besides managing their own members (with the exception of each group leader), and are not required to scout new members in order to give their subgroup a larger presence; they are however encouraged to do so.

Recruiting

  1. I don't know how to recruit.

    • First of all, thats okay, not everyone's a natural at it. There's two ways that you can train at this. One, you can go with someone experienced and watch them while they do it, or read on to see some suggestions.
    • When finding new members, its critical that you make a good first impression. DO NOT just walk up, say hello, join our fam. If you're seen doing that, you won't like the remarks you're going to get not only from your council members helping to intergrate those members, but from the family leader as well. Try introducing yourself, and mentioning that you are a member of The Chivalric Family (that way you won't get 10 minutes into the conversation and THEN say the family's name).
    • After you've gotten their interest, ask them if they would like to hear more about your family, and/or possibly join. Tell them all the things that you think make the family great, and what got you to join. After that, ask them if they have ANY questions, and lastly, ask if they want to join. If this whole process didn't take AT LEAST 5 minutes per person, you're doing it wrong.
  2. Who does the recruiting?

    • Everyone helps, but in the end its the council members and the family leaders that seal the deal. Everyone can find people, and do everything from telling them about us, to even asking if they want to join.
    • When it comes time to finally let them into the family however, you MUST have a council member OR the family leader(s) present to make sure that this member will be a good addition to the family. No member brought into the family without a council leader/member or the family leader, is a fully recruited member.
